Project: Sayville School District
Sergeant Timothy J. Henck Field
Summary:
Situated across from the Sayville Railroad Station, the existing High School varsity soccer field was converted to a synthetic turf, multi-purpose athletic field, including home and visitor stands, state of the art LED field lighting and a new score board dedicated to fallen Suffolk County Police Sergeant Timothy J. Henck. The field was re-dedicated to Sergeant Henck in a moving ceremony 22 years after he perished in the line of duty.
The field is also adjacent to the Sayville Old Junior High School and the project converted the existing building’s unused kitchen to new, accessible Public Restrooms and a Concession Stand. A Team Room addition and covered walkway were also added to the existing building to support the field activities.
